Bookings
Please check for availability and then book using our on-line form. The price is fixed at the time of booking and will be for self-catering accommodation. Minimum 3 night stay.
Deposits and payments
A deposit of 200€ per week requested is payable to confirm your reservation. The balance of your booking must be paid in full no later than 8 weeks prior to the start date of your holiday. If booking a holiday with less than 8 weeks until the start date we require payment in full at the time of booking.
If the outstanding balance is not made by the 8th week prior to your booked start date the holiday will be cancelled, the gite will be offered out for re-let and you will forfeit your deposit.
In addition to the above booking confirmation deposit we request that a further 250€ security deposit (400€ where dogs are accompanying guests) is paid against any damage caused to the gite. This payment should be made at the time of the outstanding balance payment. The security deposit will be returned to you within 14 days of your departure and we reserve the right to deduct from the security deposit the cost of any damage to the property or its fixtures or fittings during your stay. If, however, any damage exceeds the security deposit amount this must be paid by you and claimed from your own personal insurance policy.
Unfortunately we cannot accept credit cards, payment details will be provided to you at the time of booking. Payment can be made in either Sterling or Euro (Sterling amount calculated at the French tax exchange rate for the year).
There will be an additional (Holiday Tax) charge (Taxe de Sejour) that we will collect and pay on your behalf to The Community of Communes of Civraisien in Poitou. The rate is calculated at 5% per person per night of the accommodation cost plus an additional 10% (of the 5% charged) per person departmental tax. Your booking form will have the calculation for your information.
Cancellations
Please notify us of any cancellations in writing and we advise that you insure against any cancellation. If your cancellation falls in excess of 8 weeks prior to your booked start date we will pay a full deposit refund to you. If your cancellation is less than 8 weeks prior to the start date of your booking full payment will be lost. We will attempt to re-let the gite for your reservation dates and if we succeed we will pay a percentage of the monies paid to you.
Insurance
We cannot be responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any guests or their property, including vehicles, while in any of the properties or the grounds of Les Grands Coudrais. French law dictates that the client is responsible for the property contents for the duration of their holiday including accidental damage, loss, expense or inconvenience which the client or any member of their party may suffer arising from or in connection with the holiday or resulting from any other cause whatsoever. We strongly advise that you take out holiday travel insurance for each member of your family.
Arrivals / Departures
We ask that you arrive after 4pm, so that we can assure your gite is ready for you. Similarly, we ask you to vacate your gite by 10am on the day of departure so that we can prepare for incoming guests. Guests not vacating by the requested time may be charged extra to be extra.
Departure times must be adhered to.
Occupancy
The gites are only for the use of the agreed and stated number of guests. For insurance purposes we are unable to exceed this number.
Dogs
As previously mentioned, well behaved dogs are welcome. Owners must clean up after them and dogs are not allowed on furniture or beds. Dogs are also not allowed in the pool area (unless support dogs) and we request that they are closely supervised around other guests and other animals on site.
Linen, Towels and Cleaning:
We will supply towels and bed linen. For those guests staying for two weeks or more, clean linen and towels will be provided on a weekly basis.
We ask that the gite is cleaned before your departure to the same standard as found on arrival. If you prefer not to do this, we are happy to provide a cleaning service for a supplement of 50€ per gite (35€ for L’Ecurie). In either case, we ask you to ensure that beds are stripped, all linen and towels are left in the kitchen, rubbish is removed, and no washing-up is left. Payments for cleaning are to be made in cash on site.
Electric Cars
We do not have electric charging points in our gites and the electric sockets in the gites are not to be used for this purpose. There are electric charging units in Civray in the car park behind the Hotel du Commerce.
Sun Tan Lotions, coloured moisturisers:
Please do not use tanning lotions or coloured moisturisers on bedding/towels. Any stained bedding or towels will be charged for accordingly.
Extra requirement:
If you require extra equipment such as a cot or high chair please let us know at the time of booking. We have a range of equipment for babies, toddlers and small children.
