Some of our favourite Restaurants
We are extremely fortunate in that there are too many restaurants to list here. Some of our favourites include:
- Hotel du Commerce, Civray. Centrally located offering a great food with a warm welcome, lovely to sit outside in the summer, riverside.
- Pizzeria O’Napoli, Civray. Great for an informal Italian meal or a pizza takeaway.
- O City’ven, Civray. Great lunchtime menus, situated on the market square.
In addition we can order in an Indian takeaway available on Sunday evenings from LeStreet Kitchen, menus available from Wednesday (limited menu), collection from Civray. Please ask us if you are interested in ordering.
There is also a stand alone pizza machine in Savigne.

- Le Moulin de Condac, Condac (16 kms). Lovely restaurant situated riverside, great food and service.
- Le Moulin de Verteuil, Verteuil-sur-Charente (22 kms) Gastro pub situated on the river of a beautiful village, offering amongst its large menu the best brioche you could ever taste.
- Auberge Saint Jean, Nanteuil-en-Vallee. Open lunches and evenings.
- Auberge de l’Argentor, Nanteuil-en-Vallee. Offerings lunches and evening meals.
- Aux Plaisirs Gourmands, Saint Gervais (Nanteuil). Bistro bar and restaurant, great family meals.
- La Salamandre Bar/Bistro, Lizant. Bistro styled pub set by a stream. Fab burgers and pizzas and a great atmosphere.
- Chez Lui, Savigne. Fab restaurant, run by husband and wife, excellent food and ambiance, lunches only.
- O’Chat Roux, Charroux. Family run restaurant, lunches (some evenings). Great food and ambiance.
- L’Assiette, Lezay. Closed Mondays and Wednesdays but open for lunches and evening meals. Lezay has a large market on Tuesday mornings, ideal opportunity to visit the market and lunch afterwards.
- Café Portebleue, Verteuil-sur-Charente. Set in the beautiful village of Verteuil on the Charente river and a throwing distance of the beautiful chateau.
- La Senechalerie, Verteuil-sur-Charente. Relaxing bar/restaurant overlooking the famous chateau. Music nights throughout the year also.
